Breath & Shadow

Winter 2023 - Vol. 20, Issue 1

"Temperate"

written by

Allison Whittenberg

my dry wit

held its own

as the rain came down

in spits

then a geyser

we kept talking and talking at the outside table

al fresco -- all wet, oh

still

your zingers

priceless

in the dampness

left us

talking about every little

everything

every

thing.
