Breath & Shadow

Spring 2014 - Vol. 11, Issue 2

"The Nature Look"

written by

Bruce Ario

The bend of the willow tree is very erotic

Especially in the wind as today

I am only a substitute

Or, skipping over the ice on skates

A boy with dreams.

Opposed to grasping,

Where you can hear the song

Birds calling me?

But from my window

I am a foreigner anxious over deportation.

Bruce Ario began writing after leaving law school with an incomplete degree. He experienced a period of homelessness - paying his dues - before landing a position at Tasks Unlimited, a provider of mental health services where he is the editor and writer for the newsletter. His main theme is justice.
