Breath & Shadow

Fall 2012 - Vol. 9, Issue 4

"Crippled"

written by

Erik Tate

or disabled

disabled makes me think of

shutting off a machine -

it's powerless,

dead in the water,

no juice getting to it -

a machine needs someone else

to disable it,

render it out of commission,

take away

its power source

is that what's happening to me?

Erik Tate is a huge fan of Allen Ginsberg and the Beat Generation poets and writers. He enjoys abstract photography, reading about quantum physics, gardening, and playing chess.
