Two Poems
written by
Tyler Ingalls
"Tie–Dyed"
I am a tie–dyed wheel spinning on it's bearing
As I wear down
I am still holding onto the road
I have a better grip on the road
On the wheels there are bumps
There are flat spots
As I try to work out my bumps
and make myself rounder
So I can spin myself more freely
I learn that this road is not so easy
I've seen where I've been
I have no idea what I'm going to encounter
But
I'm determined to find out what is ahead of me
what is left to me is my soul.
"The Pen"
I lost you
I lost you "A's"
I lost "B’s"
I lost the "D's"
Oh darn!
Where's that pen?
I lost your word
I lost your poetry
I lost your sentences
I lost your wonderful stories
I lost your imagination, creativity
Oh! There you are in the back of the drawer
I picked you up
Started to write
I realized you were out of ink, literally
