Breath & Shadow

Two Poems
written by
Jilly Dybka
"Hubble Constant"
With distorted spasm our cosmos
expands in continuous creation.
Fresh space grows at 64 kilometers
per second. Distant galaxies are
quietly receding. Andante, legato,
the slow music of the universe.
"Triolet for the Brain"
Secrets of the brain are often obscured.
Sentience, a mysterious cognizance.
Consciousness is a universe unconquered.
Secrets of the brain are often obscured.
Chemical sensors discern the sacred.
Cortical waves contain our existence.
Secrets of the brain are often obscured.
Sentience, a mysterious cognizance.
Jilly Dybka has had dozens of poems published in publications like Michigan Quarterly Review and Spitball. She's a computer geek for the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, which is ironic since she's schizoaffective. Jilly is enrolled in the MFA program at Queens University of Charlotte.
