Breath & Shadow

Summer 2010 - Vol. 7, Issue 3

"Note to Self" and "Feeling Stars"

written by

Richard Lighthouse

"note to self"

stop being so invincible.

people are drawn to you

in that annoying way.

following your eyes around the room.

maybe they're lost. building

cathedrals to your confidence.

waiting to be anointed.

chase them into corners

and beat confessions from them.

it cannot get worse

or so tell them.

make another note.

about happiness slipping

away in clichéd terms.

become that cliché.

then dance around the room

as you watch them

watching you.

"feeling stars"

we gathered at the beach

remote

removed from the world

swirling among stars.

the wetness in their sparkle

giving way to the depth

of each ocean within us.

it has always been this way.

swimming among stars.

gathering their light.

relearning what was long

forgotten.

i have come here again to sparkle

to know light

to remember

relearn.

i know you feel these words

i share it with you.

take me home.

i will sparkle to your every feel
