MaineShare's mission is "to provide significant support to organizations doing progressive social justice and root cause work in Maine and to raise public awareness of their work." MaineShare raises funds for its member groups through campaigns in workplaces throughout the state. Employees are able to give to individual groups, including ROSC, and/or to all 37 groups through payroll deductions or one-time gifts. Member groups include those under general categories such as "social justice and peace," "education, cultural diversity, and the arts," "the environment," "human services and health," and "economic opportunity and human development." ROSC is one of MaineShare's members since its founding in 1988.
