Riding a Bike for Jobs?

I recently received an Email in my personal mailbox. I’ve switched it around a bit so the source was a little more obvious, but let me share it with you here. I obviously try to verify sources before I bring them to you. This group has a website, http://www.hireDS.com And some sort of "Career Network" labelled "HireDS Career Network Powered by Monster.com: Post Your Resume and Search Jobs".

So, here’s the Email. See what you think!

To Whom It May Concern:

Please allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Alison Lipman and I am the Managing Director of Hire Disability Solutions, LLC. Hire Disability Solutions is a national leader in protecting and enhancing employment opportunities across boundaries. We are committed to serving business needs while simultaneously breaking down barriers.

I am contacting you to bring to your attention an important initiative that Hire Disability Solutions is implementing to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities. On October 1, 2006, Hire Disability Solutions CEO Jeff Klare, in partnership with Monster.com will be embarking on a 300 mile bike ride from New York City to Washington D.C. to promote the employment of individuals with disabilities, and to deliver an Appeal for Inclusion to the US Chamber of Commerce. To find out more information you can visit http://www.hireDS.com

We are looking to organizations such as yours to help us promote the ride and join us in promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities. The employment rate of individuals with disabilities is still an astoundingly low 20.8% compared to a 78% employment rate of those who do not report a disability. Jeff is riding to increase awareness amongst the US population of the need to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing a greater opportunity to succeed.

There are several ways in which your organization can help us in this initiative. You can Send in organizational letters of support Sign the appeal for inclusion at www.hireDS.com Join Jeff as he rides Help mobilize community support Donate to an organization that promotes inclusion Send in resumes of individuals with disabilities

At Hire Disability Solutions, our mission is to give all that want a chance to succeed, the opportunity to do so. You can become a part of this mission by helping us spread the word about the Opportunity for Success Ride.

I would like to request a conference call so that we can discuss ways to make this ride a success. If you would amenable to that please contact me
at 718-965-8600 x 102 or at alipman@hireds.com.

Thank you so much for your time, interest and concern and I look forward to working with you in support of the Opportunity for Success Ride.

Sincerely,

Alison Lipman

Managing Director
