Hey Everyone,

I'm in a new anthology. Although I haven't seen the paper edition yet, I've read the text, and I think it's a good book for educating family, friends, colleagues, etc., about what it's like to have a chronic condition and/or disability. My piece is "Pap Goes the Wheezer," a humorous essay about the hurdles of getting medical care when you have multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS).

I'll post some info from the editors about the antho, below, then follow up with more comments from me.

My Body of Knowledge (Paperback)
by Karen Myers (Editor), Felicia Ferlin (Editor)
What is it like to live with a chronic illness or disability? How does it feel from the inside? My Body of Knowledge is a collection of personal essays, poetry, and fiction that accesses the wealth of insight and knowledge that people with disabilities have - simply from living in their bodies. My Body of Knowledge includes 34 pieces of writing from both new and established authors, including Molly Ivins, Floyd Skloot, and Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D. Honest, raw, humorous, and poignant, the writing captures experiences of those with cancer, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, Crohn's disease, paralysis, repetitive strain injury, Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, AIDS, and other physical conditions.

This is Sharon again. I just want to say that although I think mine is the only one about MCS, there are actually several pieces that deal with CFIDS/CFS/ME, plus many other related conditions, such as allergy, asthma, and Lyme (plus cancer, for those of you making the environmental connection) to name a few. There are also a lot of other really good writers in addition to those mentioned above, many of whom you've probably heard of. Some that I remember are Kat Duff, Erin Lewy, Raymond J. Aguilera, Barbara Lehmann, and Marcy Sheiner.

It sells for $14.95 through on-line websites like Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com and can be ordered through local bookstores. I'm sure you can also ask your local library to get a copy. A link is below.
