Ode
to My Guitar
By
William Wright Harris
Orgasms should be this pure.
Your soft maple neck, holding the same
fingers that hold
you. The way light shimmers off your glittering body
when I
swing you in my arms. My digits slide up and down your
strings,
stopping at frets only long enough to make you sing or scream.
William
Wright Harris is a student at the University of Tennessee- Knoxville
where he studies Literature, Creative Writing, and Film. He has been
published in five countries and through such publications as Soul
Fountain, Ascent Aspiration, and Write On!!!
His influences are William Carlos Williams, Ezra Pound, Jack Gilbert,
Arthur Smith, Pablor Neruda, and Mina Loy to name several.
